It’s embarrassing to admit that this is Herizon Music’s first “New Music” issue of 2025. It’s not for lack of submissions, there are plenty of releases on my list. My plate is simply full and something had to sit on the back burner for a while in order to preserve my sanity.
For all of you who submitted new music, thank you for your patience. I’m splitting up existing submissions into two issues with the second issue publishing next week. Then, God willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll get back on track with a monthly listing.
Have a new music submission from a female act? Send me a DM or reply to this email with the following info:
Artist name and state or country
Genre and format (album, EP, or single)
Link to one Youtube video (this can be an audio file or fully-produced music video)
Your name (if different from the artist) and email address
Let’s get the party started!
New Music From Women We Love, March 2025
“Catalyst,” Emer Kinsella (California by way of Ireland)
single, transcendent neo classical
Emer Kinsella is a composer/violinist who captured my heart at the GRAMMYS in January. Take your morning self-care routine to a whole new level with “Catalyst” from her upcoming album Concurrence. Emer incorporates visual storytelling into her musical experience; if you love to dance as part of your spiritual journey, this is for you.
“I Love You More,” KVNX (England by way of California)
single, punk
Sister stacker Kathy Valentine (bassist from the Go-Go’s and Bluebonnets) and Neal X are KVNX. This club footage says it all as Kathy makes a conscientious shift to stepping into the spotlight as a lead vocalist and guitarist. Stay tuned for more music from her new band Psycher.

TOGETHER, WE RISE!
“Ladybird,” Mehuman (Maine and Tennessee)
single, Afro-Americana
From her upcoming album of the same name, “Ladybird” is a call to righting wrongs and hopeful salvation. Mehuman (pronounced“May -mon”) means “The Faithful One” and this is her love letter to a world in need of much healing.
“Les Lanternes Magiques,” Charlotte (France)
single, european techno/club
Charlotte is a vocalist, author, and model who has a naughty but nice vibe (her Instagram feed proves she is anything but shy). I am 100% sold on this smash that makes me want to chase magic lights to a thumping dance floor— shaking my bootie with pure joy.
I Am The Blueprint, Qing Madi (Nigeria)
album, afrobeats
Spotify’s “EQUAL” program that promotes women in music actually works if you know where to find it. That’s how I discovered Qing Madi’s new music. Her “Goosebumps” video is her most popular Spotify single from the new album that dropped end of 2024. The video shows her as a prison guard falling for an inmate. I recommend higher dating standards, but we’ll offer the benefit of the doubt that he was wrongfully imprisoned without due process.
Stay tuned for more new music listings next week! Thank you for joining our band of dreamers, rule breakers, and rockstars!
It’s a wrap,
Thea 🎶
Nice stuff here. And I really dug the Kathy Valentine clip.
