I loved, loved, loved the Sisters debut album. It was the perfect pop and dance album, being retro without stuck and contemporary without feeling momentary. And, appropriately, they have the song Tits On the Radio, so perfect for this tour with Kesha.
Do you get a hint of Leo Sayer in their work? And they are all fantastic musicians and singers. The ladies are not backups in the show— they sing leads and have quite the comedic schtick. Especially in the costuming.
You know what? I do get a hint of Leo in it (hadn't listened to him in ages, so I had to cue up You Make Me Feel Like Dancing). I also get a lot of Elton and Muppets in their music. That may be why that first album hit so hard. The others didn't quite strike me, but I do love I Don't Feel Like Dancing. That's an excellent single.
I love it when bands turn genres upside down for a song. JRAD and Sturgil do it all the time. Sturgil’s jam band/reggae version of Eddy Murphy’s “Party All the Time” is awesome and hilarious. 😄
As do I! I remember when it came out there were a lot of angry Floyd fans, but I love how they made it a total Bee Gees disco banger. That's part of why I was smitten for them. They weren't afraid to earn the enmity of classic rock fans in seeing how elastic the song was.
Thx @Mark Edward Randall for restacking. 🙂
Love that she started her own record label!
There are only a handful of female-owned labels. I hope this inspires others!
Wowsa!

That’s my favorite single as well. And I love their cover of Comfortably Numb.

Wow! The "freedom/take your mama" mash up I never knew I needed! Also, Rainbow Pop Rock is definitely the perfect genre descriptor.
Mother has spoken! And thx for validating my new genre term. 😄
you bet!
